At the page 53 of "Vanatarul IAR-80" there is a crash site
photo of a Tandem IAR-80DC which is claimed as crash
landed in the early 50's near Focsani. It belonged to the
Scoala Militare De Aviazie Focsani.

Does anyone has a high resolution photo or clear
photo of the DC series ?

Thanks
Al

It is a "doctored" photo. I know the man who "doctored" it. wink.gif

I didn't know that, I was searching something on the net and stumbled on this photo, I remembered this topic and post it here.

The questions are, what is ”doctored” on the photo and with what purpose?

Well... A photo of a single-seater was modified to look like a two-seater.
The purpose? Fun, I guess, just like colorised photos...smile.gif
Nothing wicked.

Well... I don't see the connection between altering and colorizing photos!

As I said, it is "fun" - that is the "connection". wink.gif Just like colorizing photos is "fun"... Or is it something else? smile.gif
Let me put it this way: someone had some fun modifying a photo and somehow someone else took the result as "real".
As I also said, it is nothing wicked.

That's my point,
-colorizing historical photos has nothing to do with ”fun”, you can have ”fun” going to the CIRCUS, watching a weird TV Show, etc., its like saying: ”lets go to a war cemetery an have some fun”
-colorizing historical photos has to do with paying your respects to people you care, respect, admire, etc.

-on the other hand I don't see the ”fun” in distorting a historical photo in such a way that you deceive people, that's how I think about it.

I think you are taking this way too seriously. I am not looking for a row and I am not interested in fomenting one either.
