You can find on Internet "Artileria română în date şi imagini". You will find there all types of artilery pieces used by romanian army and their calibers. I recommend to be circumspect, as I found quite a lot of wrong datas on this book.

Oh, come on! I doubt there are so many mistakes... Are there more than, let's say, 5%? -------------------- M

Did you read the book and have the oportunity to compare it's data with other works treating the subject? One will be amazed to see how many errors are in this book, from the first pages.

I didn't read more than what I needed for my subject - Romanian Army in the beginning of WWII! And yes, I found some (minor, I think...) confusions, but I was hoping it's just a stroke of bad luck of some sort... Well, it's not so good, then, because this book seems to be "sanctioned by authorities", being written and edited by military experts - or so I thought...

That's why I was so disapointed about this book. I credited it a lot at the begining, but very soon I found, unintentionally about a great confusion between some XIXth century cannons, in other way very acuratelly described in the book, but ... the types were mixed quite good, confronting with foreign books about the same cannons. And this were only the first pages.
Of course there are very good other descriptions of cannons, but caution is required reading this book. A double check of the datas would be good for a reader. Anyway, it is not the first book written by so called romanian "military experts" or "military historians" who is a partial mess. I think on this forum I signaled the terible and unjust confusion made in last years about Horea Regiment of transylvanian volunteers from 1919. The datas were so transformed by nowadays romanian military historians that one can be easily lied about the truth. The point is that I saw this misleading present on several military history simposia. |
