Hey man, the link was good when "ioni" posted it, but that site is a virtulal newspaper and is quickly updated with the latest articles.
The story was there and was also on TV news yesterday evening. As for what I'm thinking about it... it's a bit hard to tell. It's not impossible, even quite probable that such a meeting took place. But there are a couple of things that bother me about it: First it's quite unusual that a Navy lieutenant that had no previous involvement at that high level of diplomacy was invited only to "complete the Romanian dellegation". I don't see even why Antonescu felt any need for a bigger group of Romanian officers and even if he did I don't see why wasn't he able to get a higher-ranking officer or even someone from the Navy headquarters, someone that could really represent the Romanian Royal Navy. Than I'm a bit skeptical that Hitler would accept in his bunker a complete stranger without a consistent security check. The security services couldn't possible clear someone so quickly and I'm not sure that the Furer would risk accepting at his table a potencial threat to his safety. |

I read with interest your comments. But they are around a fact which we, the guys who could not read the Internet newspaper as it was, or could now see the Romanian TV news, are not aware of. So briefly... to save your time: what is this about? Florin |
