Searching on the internet I found some interesting details.
On the occasion of this visit, in the presence of Marshal Badoglio and Marquis Durazzo, the Duke of Spoleto awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus to the following personalities:
General Constantin Coanda - former President of the Council ad interim, Minister without portfolio
Mr. Ion Mitilineu – the Minister of the Foreign Affairs
General Ludovic Mircescu – the Minister of war
Mr. Constantin Hiotu - the Minister of the Royal House

Could be General Ludovic Mircescu, it’s an assumption.
A picture here: http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludovic_Mircescu
The dimple in the chin looks like very much smile.gif.

Have you other information or pictures?
Alexandru

Romanian Royal Guards (?)

Nice photos bydand. Thanks for sharing!

This are troops from „Regimentul de Escortă Regală” (Royal Escort Regiment), a unit formed in 1908 by combining two units of Mounted Gendarmes which go back to 1864/66. They wear the blue-grey M1923 uniforms, as far as I know this is the only unit that did not switch to khaki in 1923, but retained the blue-grey colour of the M1916 uniforms. Regards!

I found by chance, the first on the right with glasses is General Alexandru Lupescu the Chief of the General staff of the Romanian army at that time, 1 octombrie 1923 – 21 iunie 1927.
