Dear forum members! Please help to identify this General. The photo was taken in Sevastopol on June 8, 1942 during the parade of Romanian and German troops there.
Thanks in advance, Alexander This post has been edited by photo-war on May 24, 2013 03:11 am |

This photo is from a Kriegsmrine member photo album that I got recently. Owner was stationed in Eupathoria, Jalta and Sevastopol and took a lof of absolutely killer photos, including photos of the parade of Romanian and German troops. There is a German general who participated in the parade and he has not been identified yet. if someone knows the name of this general please help to identify him as well. Thanks, Alexander |

In my opinion he is general der kavallerie Erick Hansen, commander of 54. Armeekorps between 1.06.1941 and 19.01.1943, because this photo is taken at 8.06.1942 he wears only the 3rd class of the romanian Mihai Viteazul order, which he received at 22.08.1941, he also received the 2nd class at 20.07.1942. Please share more photos from this album with us, especially if romanian troops are present! |

Are you sure this parade was in June 1942, before the battle ended?

@cainele_franctiror: you may be right, maybe its 8 July, 1942, not 8 June.

Here we go. The photographer was concentrated on WH and KM troops but this is a photo of Romanian soldiers marching on Nakhimov Square in Sevastopol. This post has been edited by photo-war on May 24, 2013 08:12 pm |

This is a beautiful photo, thanks Alexander! Judging by the shape of the pants and leather leggings, I believe they are romanian mountain troops, they seem to wear the M39 summer tunics and, interestingly enough, they still have the cipher of ex King Carol II at the M39 steel helmets, usually this ciphers were removed but some units still kept them for unknown reasons. If you have more, please share! |

Photo-War,
The romanian general pictured îs definitely Gh. Manoliu. I also have a small set of pictures from the Sevastopol parade, in which the unknown german general (presumably Hansen) appears, along with Manoliu and other general officers. vIf you have additional pics from that event, would you please post them? Thanks. |
