Please ID officer photo.

Hello friends! It is possible to indetifity this officers type of troops by this photo?
And please tell me something about the rewards.

Here you have an M1916 officer's blue-grey uniform, medal appears to be ”Crucea comemorativă a Războiului 1916-1918” instituted in 1918, July 8th. Although the khaki uniform was introduced to some units in 1921 and in 1923 to others, the blue-grey colour was tolerated until 1927, thus this photo could be taken somewhere between end of 1918 and 1927. Personally I would date it somewhere between 1919 and 1923.

When requesting an identification of a uniform and medal, you should post a high resolution scan, preferably at 1200 dpi. I don't know how you people expect one to see all the details form a small low resolution 72 dpi scan, measuring 800 x 503 pixels.

I forgot to add that he seems to be an „sublocotenent”, his black pants suggests he served with the artillery or cavalry troops, I would bet on the latter. Regards!

This is a photo from the family archive of Grigory Andronikovich Mamulat, Electrotechnics Professor, Food Industry Institute of Technology, Tiraspol, MSSR.
The two individuals are his Romaina relatives on his aunt's side. He is originally from satul Coşniţa, Moldova. His multiple relatives still reside there, in fact.

Sorry, the low-res scans is all I got at the moment. Will try to re-scan ASAP.

At a first look, yes, it seems austro-hungarian, but the epaulettes tell another story, this is a Romanian police M1903 uniform, they were called „sergenți de oraș” (in 1930 they were transformed in „Corpul Gardienilor Publici”, unfortunately I cant tell you his rank because I don't find that information right now (I believe I have it somewhere). The one in the dark uniform, second from right, wears a Romanian M1895 artillery uniform, if you post a high quality photo I can tell you his rank. The other tree are German officers, I believe the Romanian officer is following a artillery specialization course in Germany. I would date this photo somewhere between 1900/05 and 1912.

Let me get you the scan of the reverse side. There's a text in Romanian there.
And you're right again: the photo is dated 29 VIII 1906 and was sent by the Romanian officer from Calau, Germany.

I asked Mr. Emil Boboescu from „Asociația Tradiția Militară” about the rank and he was so kind to solve the matter: here we have a polițai clasa III-a or clasa II-a, the ”polițai” was a police chief from the smaller towns who did not have a police chief with the rank of ”prefect”.

If the photo is taken in the town of Orhei, than the photo is taken after 1918, because this territory joined the motherland after this date. I would appreciate that this photo was taken between 1919 and 1928, maybe in the first half, 1919 to 1923/24.
