By the way, regarding the nurse standing behind the prisoner :
What do you think, was our radio operator in good hands ?

As the topic already drifted toward prisoners of war in general, I have to add that a distant relative of mine, as prisoner of war in Soviet Union, said that their normal status was very hungry = starving.
Occasionally they received very salty fish, and because of that salt their bodies got swelled.
One day the camp management (the guards) had the idea to take them to harvest cherry trees. The prisoners not only ate all the fruits from the trees, but also the leaves from the branches, and at the end some trees looked as during winter.
They were never sent again to crop or harvest something.

Regarding the treatment of prisonier of war by soviets .It varies ,after the war conditions improved .The story of the Totenkopf prisonier looks like pure propaganda especially from irember.ru but it is all so truth that not all the waffen ss prisoniers were shot on spot. I read the memories of a member of the Totenkopf division, he sad that condition were harsh but most of them manage to survive , he survive even if he was wounded when he was taken prosonier.

Your compatriot got in safe hands.Major Reshov Boris Vasilievich, at the beginning of war was the leading surgeon of hospital. In November 1941,he was heavily contused. From 1943 he is a chief of large hospital...Poll his daughter Iulia , she must know how her father outlived a captivity. It would be interesting.

In legatura cu evenimentele din 22 iunie 1941, descriese si in cartea mea Aviatia romana in prima zi de razboi, legat de Savoia Nr.1 si RTF Valcu Ion va pot informa:

Florila 1 Bombardament, Erupul 1, Esc.72.
Savoia Nr.1, Pilot Adj.Sef Av. Bucur C-tin, Obs. Lt.Carstov Ilie, mec. Smstr.Ionescu Ion, rtf. Srg. Valcu Ion, mitr.Srg. Iliescu Ion.
