I think the "Schneider" was most needed by the Romanian Army in the first two years of the fight with Soviet Union.
This brings the question: was the "Schneider" able to punch through the frontal armor of a T-34 ? Even against the 1940 or 1941 design versions, that had thinner armor than the later models. As far as I know, the answer is NO . |

If not, the Schneider was very good against the obsolete soviet tanks ( like T-28) This post has been edited by Cantacuzino on November 17, 2014 07:03 am |

Our campaign in 1941 did not end with the liberation of Bessarabia. Also, in my previous comment I wrote: ". . . was most needed . . . in the first two years of . . . fight " . This means up to June 1943. Why did I write that the "Schneider" was most needed in the first two years ? Simply because after that the Romanian Army started to have some better options, too little too late: the 75 mm bought from Germany, the 76 mm captured from the Red Army, and finally the 75 mm that we made ourselves.
