Hello!
This is my first post. I recently acquired a Romanian Army Saber (parade version), that seems to be from the 1940/1945 period. The crest is not legible, but I do own a number of old sabers and, to the best of my knowledge, it seems to be the real deal. It is exactly the one pictured in this photo, with the same scabbard: http://www.historia.ro/sites/default/files/aaaaaaaa.jpg How do you wear it? The American/English scabbards have 2 rings, one top, one bottom, and the scabbard can be attached to the belt with a leather hanger. However, our Romanian version has 2 parallel rings on top, and I could not find a single picture where someone actually wears the saber. Any ideas or pictures? How would you hang it to a belt? How do modern officers do it? Thanks. |
