Strange. Dicezare doesn't seem to have the Mihai Viteazul Order on him. Friday, when I was leaving the faculty around 1400 hours, there were two old men in suits, with a small bar on their left breast, similar to the Virtute Militara ribbon, standing by the Heroes of the Engineer Cops Statue (aka Leu) vis-a-vis teh entry in the Cotroceni Palace. They probably attended the ceremony. Unfortunately only now did cross my mind what they were doing there. C-2, don't forget the macro function of the camera when taking photos from close range. |

He was wearing it. The blue cross of the Order of Michael the Brave is just above the Gold Cross of the Order for Aeronautical Virtue. |

Right. I didn't notice it there. It was supposed to be in front of the VA Order Knight class.

Not only they were supposed to be on the same row, but as Dicezare has three decorations, according to the law they were supposed to be on a bar. |

Today 15.30 I was invited at Dicesare's house.
He asked me to drive afew bloks away from his house,to a small cemetry. There's a grave of a ggod friend of his,who was a bomber pilot and was killed in a landing accident after been hit by AA.The sadest thing is that Dicezare was among the fighters that protected the bombers in that mission. Since then Dicezare took care of his grave. Now Dicezare ,who turns 89 in August,is worried that after his death nobody will take care of his friends grave. Even I got some tears when I heard the story... And that wasn't enought. 17 hour, together with Mytzu,Electric and the grand son of veteran pilot Iolu Nicolae, went to a visit to Dobran. There there was a very strong moment, when Dobran's eyes were full of tears when talking about prince Mihai Brancoveanu. Unfortunatly,I couldn't stay nore then 45 min (and that's very little). I hope the other guys enjoyed and will share the events. |

We had a great time indeed, thank you C2.Here is a pic with Mr. Dobran signing photos with him shooting dow a stang:
Ofcourse he told us many stories, showed us many photos, I even managed to use my crappy photo-camera to record some of the stories, unfortunatelly the quality is very low so I will ask a friend to edit it so we can get a better sound.Hope I will also translate it in english This post has been edited by D13-th_Mytzu on June 12, 2005 10:40 am |

Yesterday,I tlaked with Dicesare about the subject we talked with Dobran-the accident IOlu NIcolae had on Karpovka airfield while atempting to fly away from the encircled airfied.
Dicezare left a day early (on the 24/11/42) The defence was coordinated by Simionescu,N.Burileanu and Muresan. Iolu did had a sever head wound but he never heard about a "piece of metal "in the head. |

Today I payed a short visit to Me 110 pilot Boris Capbatut. He recovered wel from a hip operation and doing well.
I gave him as a present a photo with Barbici To those who never heard the story,Barbici thougt Boris Capbatut 110's is a P 38 and sent him to the groung on fire. The telegrafist was cut in two by the plane tail and Capbatut got burned by the flames but manegged to bail safely and pikked up by a German oficer with a Stork. At night,he wnent with Titus Axente and theur girlfriends to selebrate his escape, and met at the restaurant the chearful Barbici who was celebrating "his P 38". Capbatut smiled when the looked at the photo.. Somehow I don't think he misses Barbici |

Toady I finaly talked with the dauther in law of N.Sculi Loghoteti, who lives in France.
I found that Sculi-Loghoteti's wife (who was a nurse and went as a volunteer to the front in order to be near her husband) was the sister of fighter pilot Stefan Greceanu). |
