After 23 VIII 1944 I aknow one romanina pilot esacpe "desertions". One Romanina pilot had taken Hurricane no 8 and had flown it to Turkay on 26 VIII 1944, he made forcelanding before Instablul.

That particular incident happened not on Aug. 26, but three days later. The pilot was 9-ARR victory ace Adj. stag. av. Petre Cordescu (as noted in my book on ARR fighter aces, published by Osprey, page 89). Gen. Dénes This post has been edited by Dénes on November 18, 2006 08:20 pm |
