3 articles about 22.06.41 in 2016
In Russia appeared in 2016 three very interesting and deep articles done by Mikhail Tymin about Soviet aviation on 22 June 1941. These are very solid studies showing the history of the individual regiment (IAP) and what its pilots done/achived on 22 June. Articles have descriptions about unit's history before war period (2-3 years earlier). The materials are very solid and fully illustrated. More in: 1. Aviation and Kosmonavtika (A&K) no 1/2006, pp. 16-28.This article concerns the 46 IAP based on Młynów airfield in the South-West Front. There are: 31 photos B&W, 9 different colored silhouettes of I-153, I-16 type 5 and He 111. 2. A&K no 6/2016, pp 16-33. Article concerns the 67 IAP, on Bolgrad and Bolgarijka airfield of the Southern Front. There are: 42 photos b&w, 13 different colored silhouettes of I-16, ARR's colors: Potez, He 112, Hurricane Mk I, Blenheim, PZL-37 Łoś, IAR-80 ect. 3. A&K no 7/2016, pp. 22-34. Article is about the 42 IAP, and Perola and Orany/Varena airfield, the North-West front. There are 31 photos b&w, 12 different silhouettes color of I-153, Me 109 F and JG 52, 53. The most important for Romanian is second one, about 67. IAP versus ARR. Romanian crews/pilots 3 times had attacked these places and each time had sustained very serious losses. |
