I've translated briefly the law and I hope I'd translated it corect.

Persons who own and/or comercialise metal detectors must obtain an authorisation from the local county police . Ownership of a metal detector whitout an autorisation is punishable from 150 000 000 lei to 500 000 000 lei and the confiscation of the metal detector.

We can go search in the traches around Bucharest, if anyone is intrested, i also have a metal detector (15-20 cmm range of detection).

I agree with you. What's so bad in having a metal detector? Romanian laws are so dunb, I think that the one's in charge should be shoot on site. In stead of encouraging relic hunting they forbided it.

^all^ i am sorry you are so far. I have many friends that are intrested in searching the crash sites we even know about whole plane allmost intact possible locations but we just don't go sad.gif that is just too bad. If only i had a car dry.gif
and there is another problem, you will need a escavator and to rent such a think is big money not to mention the permission to dig (in somme casses that can be arranged verry simple) and after we take out much of a plane what is goin to happen? we sell it? we donate it? is kind of odd, if we give it to the museum the parts will disapeer like it happened whit that Wellington in Comana lake, so we must avoid persons like Sandache (the direcotor of aviation museum who a cupple of yars thought that B17 attacked Ploesti on 1 august) and Craciunoiu (the director of Modelism, another old wesel) if we gonna do something we must get founds from like an rich arheolog, who can offer us at least a rented car, a sonnar and sommehow a metal detector, and we bring serious stuff.

Cipiamon I'm glad to hear that there are others like me. But in Romania it seems that we don't have a chance. If the police let's you the governmend doesn't and vice-versa. The only thing we can do for now (if we start searching) is not to declare anything, if we stumble on something big we should leave it there until th laws change. The small things we can take to our homes (like helmets, knifes, medals, pices of gear, etc) and the weapons that we might find.....well give them to the museum. Maybe if we find some human remaines we'll do something good like buring them properly and saying a few praires. That's what we can do for now. My heart is broken because the laws don't let us or somebody else find these "treasures" and give a proper burial and grave to those who have fallen for a cause that wasn't theirs. MAY GOD REST THE SOULS OF EVERY SOLDIERS KIA. MAY THEY REST IN PEACE.

It's not a joke. The human remains are of a russian soldier (the police said that). From what I know they give him a proper burial.
The mortar shell wasn't visible from the road, it was hidden in some bushes. But still at about 1.5 meters from the road.
I have some pictures but I think it would be innapropiate to post them here.

Peace!

I think you are being to harsh on commander Sandachi. His knowledge on Romanian aviation is greater than ours I assure you. The Wellington's, from what I understood from him, are at the Museum presently, as are the Bf-109's wings and propeller. He also found a Hs-129 undercarriage in a military unit, where they were used as poles on the training ground. What the museum lacks is space to put them on display.

As for mr. Craciunoiu he has, as I understand, a performant metal detector, so you should try to be more friendly. wink.gif

Sandachi do not have any more planes than he displays right now sad.gif
When i visited the museum i talked to the guide about my work he was very happy to hear and to take the half of the liberator that i told the about, but he does not recolect any information about a wellington, i asked him my self rolleyes.gif
why would i doanted the half of the libarator if thay can't hold of an whole welington, hehe, i think Sandachi should more respect from the "metal scrap" that we discover.
