Hai
During the second half of the thirties the Dutch Airforce rquested the Koolhoven factory, Waalhaven/Rotterdam to design and build a photographic survey aeroplane. Result a two engined aeroplane, gipsy major. Later two more were build, one for Finland as ambulance plane, Hirth engines and one for Turkey as a photographic survey with Rangers engines. Because the factory was during the first bomb attack at the airfield Waalhaven hit and completely destroyed, so all the paperwork etc. was lost. Now received the information that two more aeroplanes of this type were under construction for Roumania. How can help me with some of the following questions? 1. Were these ordered as photographic survey or something else, 2. What kind of engines were ordered, 3. Other interresting details etc. 4. Are there any official documents left and how can I get a scan? Were there any contacts between the Koolhoven factory and the Roumanian government concerning other aeroplanes? All kind of the would be very helpfull. Thanks Jan |
