Romanian Army OoB August 1916

Hello,

My name is Paul, and I'm new to the forum here--first post today!

I am seeking detailed order of battle information on the Romanian Army at the beginning of the 1916 campaign. I am conducting a study of the campaign, and have gathered quite a few sources--the applicable volumes of the German, Austrian, and Bulgarian official histories.

I unfortunately don't have access to "Armata Romana in Razboiul Mondial 1916-19."

I am gathering information on the organization and strength of the army, to include the order of battle of the divisions, and also their strengths (number of battalions, batteries, etc).

I see in the Bulgarian history that there is a pretty detail table on the Romanian army in volume VIII, pp. 26-27. This gives a good overview of the strengths of the units, but no details on the actual units assigned, and I also don't know how accurate it is.

Could someone advise me if ""Armata Romana in Razboiul Mondial 1916-19." would provide this level of detail? If so, I can try and find a way to order it via the library, but I wanted to ask the experts here first.

What level of detail are you searching for? Regimental level?

Hello,

Yes, down to regimental level would be good--I am interested in the strengths and organizational details of the units. Details like, how many artillery batteries (and type) did such and such unit have--number of battalions, effectives.

I've since ordered "Armata Romana in Rasboiul Mondial," vols 1 and 2 and "Ražboiul Romaniei: 1916-1918," vol. 1 through library loan. They should be here next week.

I was more looking for advice on sources, but I would welcome any help from experts here.

I saw a fellow named Andrei Razu has posted lot of information on the Western Front Association forum--some of it with tables showing exactly the type of information I need--I'm also trying to contact him.

No luck contacting Mr. Razu, unfortunately, but I was able to get a copy of volume 1 of "România în războiul mondial 1916-1919" through library loan,which was most useful--the other volumes of the official history seem much harder to obtain though.

Were you able to get an OB for August 1916 from the books you obtained?

I, too, am trying to compile an OB and have several that conflict in some minor particulars.

Those volumes ar not available to me in the States. Respectfully, would you please share your OB from those books.
