Hello,
Does anyone know what type of armored cars equipped the Divizia 1 Blindata Grupul Cercetare in the first half of 1941? Thank you! Skarn |

As far as I know, only motorcycles and side cars were used during initial stages of Barbarossa and 222s were received before Stalingrad.
Here you'll find more information: https://www.worldwar2.ro/forum/index.php?showtopic=4645 |

Hello,
Thank you for your answer and the information you provided. Do you think that the recon elements of the Divizia 1 Blindata, apart the motorcycles and side-cars, were equipped with Tatra T93R trucks? Thanks! Regards, Skarn |

I don't know this for sure but it it very possible that 1 Blindata did have also those R trucks in their Recon group. |

Apparently Romania had (there are photos and documents regarding the issue) 9/10 (a full company) of serviceable Tatra recon armoured cars (Tatra OA vz. 30), which took refuge in Ro after March 1939 (German occupation of Bohemia and Moravia) They were probably included in the First Motomechanized brigade (created in October on November 1939), and then (probably paired with motorcycles and 4x4 vehicles) into the recon group of the Armoured division.
Also if we add the tankettes (R 1) of the partially motorized cavalry brigades (3 brigades, 6 machines each) with those of "pure" cavalry ones (3 brigades, 4 machines each) we are still left with an valiable platoon of 5 out of the total of 35 engines (36 including the prototype). Plus an assortment of older Skoda (OA vz. 27) or even WW 1 French and licensed Russian-made cars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OA_vz._30 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanian_armo...ng_World_War_II This post has been edited by Agarici on March 31, 2019 08:24 pm |
