This is interesting! I've been looking for one in 1/48 for a while. I know LTD use to build one, but I cannot find it anymore! Is this kit in 1/48?

No the above kit is at 1/72 scale. I saw one year ago an IAR 80 at 1/48 scale but don't remember the producer. On the box was the image of the plane (black/white photo)

Last time I visited Dan Melinte, he was working at the model of a huge IAR-80 (~1 m long) remote controlled.

So this is a mass produced item, available in hobby stores and on Internet...
This is what I understand from the previous posts.

Here is a paper (!) model of I.A.R. 80 by Orlik, scale 1:33.
Has anyone seen anything similar?

When in www.google.com you insert for search IAR 80 scale model + kit (or an equivalent you want), many sites appear, like, for example:

Yes, I know; however, the model I presented above is made of paper, not the usual plastic, and the scale is rather large, 1:33.

Has anyone seen this item assembled/glued?

I have the MPM IAR in 1/48 still not finished because the kit is just a plastic nightmare - lots of things to clean up and correct, the pieces are very hard to detach from the sprue without damaging them, and so on. The decals are impressive though. Stay away from it unless you're a "pro" obviously I'm not one. laugh.gif

Cheers

The MPM doesn't have IAR 80 at 1/48 scale. Only 1/72.

The only IAR 80 1/48 scale is LTD .
I think " rcristi" was talking about LTD 1/48 and not MPM.
