Hello! Please with this photo of a funeral ceremony of British Royal Navy Armored Car Division that was in Galatz during spring of 1917.

Can anyone tell is this NCO (?) wears Rumanian Navy uniform? It looks like different from uniform of British RNACD personnel that I see in other photos in this album. I know that Rumanian river flotilla has a base in Galatz on Danube during WWI, could be this man from there?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Alexander

P.S. May be someone can ID a cathedral on background?

1. It seems that person carries a sword, and it seems to be the senior in this group. So, he can be an officier. But i don't think romanian.
2. His rank seems to be four stripes or two narrow plus one wide.
3. ( Ro. Navy left Galatz end of 1916 ).
4. In Danube area there also was the french mission.

Gen. Dénes

Gen. Dénes, there are no aviation photos in this album. Only armored cars, artilley and infantry.

Boomboo thanks a lot for your links!

Petre, you are correct. He is French and was ID'ed as such.

Many thanks to all for looking!

Best regards,
Alexander
