Two Questions:
1. I'm building a 1/35 scale diorama of an ARR antiaircraft crew and 20mm Gustloff (Flak 38) at Plo(i)esti on 1 Aug 43. I cannot find definitive information on their uniform & helmet colors. A limited number of photos and printed information suggests the home front antiaircraft troops wore M15 or M26 Adrian helmets in 1943. One Russian website states the antiaircraft troops wore black helmets, but this does not seem correct, judging from black & white photographs. The Osprey book on Romanian uniforms states antiaircraft troops wore "blue-gray" uniforms, but that is not very specific! What colors are correct? 2. My diorama display will include an actual M26 Adrian helmet and rank insignia for a gun or battery commander, which I assume would have been a Sergent Major or Sergent, or possibly a warrant officer. I cannot find specific information. I cannot find any place on the internet (in English) that sells real or replica ARR rank insignia. Suggestions on where to find these items? Thanks much! |

I was not clear about the ARR insignia I seek: I'm looking for a ROMANIAN source since no English-language website sells such material. The source need not be in English; I can use Google Translate.
