A question, some subscriber may have an answer.
To what extent are women working in the armaments factories in Romania in World War II? In particular, are women working in the aircraft factories? Cordially, Joseph M. Isenberg |

In WWII romanian aviation magazines you can find many pictures with women o:) working in aviation factory ( like I.A.R.-Brasov) most on easy operations like fabric covering but also hard jobs like welding metal parts. So, as everywere in war days, women are used in factories to support the war effort of men who :guns: are fighting on battlefields. Probably at least 30% up to 50% of workers in romanian military factories( WWII) were women. :ro:

Many thanks for the tip. I am now looking for the aviation magazines you mention, and would pay reasonable sums for either hard copies or reimburse for photocopies, plus in either case the expenses of postage, and, if necessary, any expense for gaining the approval of the cultural patrimony office for export.

There is a photo in the book Vanatorul IAR-80 depicting several women working on the stabilizer assembly line. One of the authors of the book is a member here: George [Cicos]. You can contact him via PM if you want.
