I could use some statistics regarding the Ploiesti Oil Rafinery installations.
How much oil was produced in the years before the war, how much oil output was made during the war and what quantities were exported to Germany and other allies?

How many raids (bombardments) in total day and night, which was the first which was the last. Something like 34% of Germany's Oil was from Ploiesti! Post war compensation to the USSR took what oil remained there... is there any oil left today...definately not what once was..

* A german documentary I have suggests the Ploiesti Rafinery was "one of the most modern in all of Europe" !!

All comments welcome. ohmy.gif :!:

Ploesti refineries:
Romano-Americana refinery: 1.25 million tones/year
Concordia-Vega refinery: 1.5 million tones/year
Standard-Petrol refinery and Unirea-Speranta refinery: 1.3 million tones/year
Astra Romana refinery: 2 million tones/year
Columbia-Aquila refinery: 0.3 million tones/year

Creditul Minier refinery at Brazi: 0.6 million tones/year of high octane aviation fuel

Steaua Romana refinery at Campina: 1.75 million tones/year (third largest in Europe)

In total, 8,7 million tones of oil could be processed in the Prahova Valley.

However, the oil wells produced the peak 8.7 million tons value only once, in 1936. After that, the production started to decrease and in 1941 it was only 5.577 million tons. Romania supplied the Third Reich 3.173 million tons that year. About 2.302 and 2.473 million tons were sent in 1942 and 1943, respectively. Over one million were exported to Italy and some neutral countries each year. In 1944, in spite of the damage suffered by the oil installations and of the fact Romania quit the Axis and joined the Allies, Germany still received one million tons.

The "funny "thing is than most of the oil rafinaries were built by American companies with Am.capital and a lot of Romanian oil man were traind in the US.
A Serbian citizen from Voivodina told me a while ago, that near his vilage were 2 factories:a tractors factory-build by Americans
and a tanks factory(I belive build by teh Russians).
During the Yugoslav war the coalition forces bomb and distroyed the tractors fac.and left the tanks factory intact.
Epilog:The Serb's citizen's father had to buy after 40 years the first time a Ucrainian tractor......
