Thank you both for the updates.

A quick question - you have Iacobici as Minister for Armaments I have him as Inspector-General of Armaments - however I properly wrong about this? Who served as Minister of Armaments between Iacobici and Dobre?

I am sorry, but I do not know. I have found the information I posted in an article which dealt with the former Austro-Hungarian officers integrated into the Romanian army after WWI. It had only brief information on officers which reached the general rank. The particular information about Iacobici which you mentioned is only given as: "Ministru al Înzestrării (October 1938 - January 1939)".

Could it be Ion (Ioan) Stoicescu, born 1886?

Gen. Dénes

Hmm.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flatter.
Although I admit that he has done a great work on the French section.

Anyway back to Romanian generals. I found this on Victor Dombrovski but unsure of my Romanian ;) :

Edilii Capitalei intre 1944 si 1989
General Victor Dombrovski: august 1944 – februarie 1948

Mayor of Bucharest? I take it that Edilii originate in the Latin aedil, which were a public servant.

Now does anybody have the full name of general Georgescu-Pion, CO of 20th Infantry Division 1938-1939?

Kind Regards

Ministry of Armaments was newly created 14th October 1938. In the governments of Miron Cristea (1st February - 6th March 1939) and - then - Armand Cǎlinescu (7th March - 21st September 1939) Minister of Armaments was Victor Slǎvescu.

Henric Cihoski was born on 2 October 1871. In 1917 he was a brigadier general and the CO of the 10th Infantry Division, which saw some very heavy fighting during the battle of Marasesti. For the exploits of his division, gen. Cihoski received the Mihai Viteazul Order 3rd class. During 1928-30 he was the Minister of Defence. He rose up to the rank of lt. gen. After WW2 he was imprisoned at Sighet where he died during his incarceration. I do not know the date. There was a book published about him in 1996 written by Dumitru Preda.
