Constantin Roman Livovschi (2 iunie 2006)

Aurelian (Rica) Livovschi was my great uncle, being my paternal grandfather's youngest brother.
please find below a compilation of his Curriculum Vitae, from family archives in my possession in London:

youngest son of Pr.Econ.Stavr. Zenovie Livovschi (1858-1933) and of Polixenia nee Nicodinescu (1860-1940)
1902 b Tulcea (green/brown eyes, brown hair, broad forehead, straight nose
1909-1915 ? lycee Tulcea (only to the 6th form)
1916-1919 - during WWI during the Bulgarian Occupation of Dobrogea, Refugee with his parents to Chilia Veche in the Danube Delta, where he enrols as a marine boyscout in the Romanian Navy fighting the Bulgarians
1919 Sept Lycee Mihai Voevod, Cahul, Bessarabia, where he passes (just) seven out of eight exams. fails in Maths and repasses in Dec (mark 6/10) and is declared “pass” for the end of the 5th Form, (at the age of 17) see certif form nr 362 0f 23 march 1920
He was a great sportsman and he held the record of skating on the frozen Danube the distance between the ports of Tulcea and the port of Sulina, using an umbrela as sail. He was an accomplished swimmer.
1924 military service first in the 32 Infantry Rgt, then moved to Aviation School. (Tecuci) pilot licence at the age of 22. He was one of the first people in Romania to train as a parachutist at Galati and Tecuci
1925 October (first jump) as one of the first military parachutists

1928 - He had worked for the Tramway Company in Bucharest (Tramvaie Bucuresti, TB) first as a warehouseman for spare parts, then as chief cashier at the Serban Voda depot, Bucharest (still in 1934). and lived with his retired parents in str Harsova nr 38
1933 his father, Preot econom Stavrofor Zenovie Livovschi dies in Bucharest
For two years he was a car salesman in Buzau
1936 Clerk National Romanian Railways Co (CFR) where he is a member of the Sports Association for Mountaineering and Hockey. Member of the League of Romanian Pilots (membership card nr 21, dated 24 July 1936, living at Harsova st nr 15, profession Clerk
1939 clerk at the Bucharest Tramway Co” (STB)
1939 Apr 17 registered for refresher course as pilot at the Scoala de perfectionare Buzau
1939 June 20 Qualified as pilot with the rank of “adjudant pilot”
1939 Sep 17 drafted as war pilot active service Flotila 3 Aviatie
1940 Mar 1, School to be a pilot for twin engine planes (Sweetheart Aura dedicates photo)
1940 June before 26 - his mother dies and he is evicted from his home by brother-in-law Pharmacist Vasile Barozzi at which point, on
27th june 1940 an inventory of his belongings is made
1940, Jul 1 , Drafted as pilot with the Royal Romanian Airforce in 1941, he qualified with a
brevet of pilot to fly a Heinkel 111 twin engine planes to join Flotila I Bombardiere
July 1940 to Sep 1941 - completed 31 bombing missions over the USSR
1941 Sep 21 dies in action (aged 39) temporarily buried in the village of Vladiceni, Co Ismail (see newspaper family announcement. His plane was shot down by the Soviets and nose dived in Lake Yalpoug, Southern Bessarabia, after a bomb mission over Odessa.

1941, 4th Nov King Micheal bestows on him (post mortem) the Order “Virtutea Aeronautica de Razboi cu spade” Class “Crucea de Aur cu 2 berete” Brevet nr 387 IDN Nr 3037 “For having completed 31 of the most important and difficult bombing missions”
1941/2 -
The body was temporarily burried in the nearby village of Vladiceni, Co Ismail, Afterwards, his brother Vicentiu recovered the body and burried it in the graveqyard of the parish church of Cuza Voda, (formerly Hadji Abdullah) Co Cahul, Bessarabia, where Zenovie was once a parish priest. This provice was subsequently attached to the USSR after WWII and is now part of Ukraine.
Rica he was a handsome man, full of life and at his memorial service came his girlfriend/fiancee Aura.
he had no children
Rica died young but lived a full life.
